Extremely Affordable Matte Liquid Lipsticks

Hello! ♥

Matte lips seems to be everyone's favourite at the moment, and there's been so much hype around matte liquid lipsticks, e.g. Lime Crime's Velvetines and the Anastasia's Beverly Hills liquid lipsticks but the price tag on these may not be so great for a lot of people, they're also not easily accessible.

I came across the Me Now Generation II matte lip glosses on BeauteaBible and then started to search for more posts on them. They've had great reviews from several bloggers, as well as great reviews on eBay so I ordered two shades; 22 and 33.

Shade 22 is a beauuuutiful plum/purple colour and Shade 33 is a deep red. Whilst reading other blogposts on this product, I found swatches with Shade 33 and Lime Crime's 'Wicked' side-by-side and the shades were the exact same! Click here for the photo.

I'm sorry for the crappy swatches! :(
They smell so so sweet, I love it! They also apply super evenly, unless you have too much product on the doe-foot applicator. It's incredibly opaque and you definitely do not need more than one coat, but if you want to build up the colour, it's best to do so in thin layers. They're not gloopy at all and dry to a very matte finish, similar to the Sleek Matte Me, and they feel super comfortable on my lips!

Once dried, they do not budge which can make it a bit troublesome when it's time to remove it.. If you've applied one thin layer (all I need for an opaque lip colour that will last all day), you can remove it with a normal makeup remover (I used the L'Oreal Micellar Water). However, if you apply a few layers, then only an oil will be effective in removing it completely with ease. I've just had a slightly greasy meal and the lip colour transferred a little to food/utensils but my lip colour was still intact!

My only worry with this product is that there's no ingredient list on the packaging.. So when I tried googling it, I found that some people were stating that it contains lead :\ As much as I love these matte lip creams, I will not be using them regularly just be on the safe side.

The packaging for these is really not the cutest, and the design even slightly differs on each tube, but THEY'RE ONLY A POUND!

Click here for the seller I used, which was recommended by BeauteaBible <3

Let me know if you know of any other bargain matte lip colours!

Thanks for reading, Thahira x

    1. I've just looked up the first two ingredients, I read that the second one is toxic and can lead to cancer. :\
