Quick and Easy Contouring and Highlighting

Hello!

I am seriously struggling to put up these posts without my laptop... I'm also struggling without my bed :( but anyways, I thought I'd post something short and sweet through my phone!

I have got such chubby cheeks, like no exaggeration, I'll take pictures where it looks like I have food in my mouth when it's actually just my fat cheeks! Recently, contouring has become my best friend, and today I'll show you how I contour my face!

I'm not a fan of contouring with cream products/foundations/contouring under foundation purely because I'm far too lazy for that so I purchased the Sleek Contour Kit in medium (pictured is the Sleek Face Form as my contour kit is at home, but this is basically the same). The contour powder is not too red and the highlight is just fab in this! They're both long lasting, but I have noticed that the highlight can easily be removed by my jilbab or niqab, so I do need to reapply it at times. You do need to be a little careful with the contour powder as applying too much may cause a "muddy" effect, and I'm sure nobody wants that!

You can have the best contour kit out there, but without the right tools you're not going to achieve a flawless look. I've always used angled blush/contour brushes for contouring my cheeks, but after using someone's Real Techniques Contour Brush, I'm ready to ditch the angled brushes! The RT Contour Brush is honestly amazing, it's the perfect size to get into the hollows of your cheek, it's super soft & dense, and also blends out the powder seamlessly so there are no harsh lines! I'm still in shock at how amazing this brush is, it literally does all the hard work for you.

I use the Contour Brush with the contour powder in the hollows of my cheeks, if you can't find it by sucking in (duck face!), try going from the top of your ear to the corner of your mouth. I prefer to end my contour about an inch and a half away from my mouth. I also use a little bit along my jawline to try and hide my triple chins, then I go down the sides of my nose with whatever is left on my brush, so it's not too harsh.

For powder highlighters, my personal preference is using fan brushes, and ELF have an amazing one! It's extremely inexpensive but works incredibly well. I use the Fan Brush with the highlighter along the tops of my cheekbones, the bridge of my nose and my Cupid's bow.

If I want a more strong contour for my nose, I use a liquid concealer which is a shade lighter than my skin tone and apply it to the bridge of my nose before using the Sleek contour powder, but I usually only do this for special occasions.

Voila! An easy sculpted face!
Do you have any tips for a quick and easy contour? Let me know in the comments.

Thanks for reading, Thahira x

  4. I have the sleek face form kit and I'm also NC42 for Mac foundation but I have the kit in light and the contour powders just right! Plus its buildable so instead of going for the medium try the light! The blush is also AMAAAAAAZING!
