Rimmel London Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation Review

Hello!

I was requested in my Eid Haul post to review my favourite foundation, which is the Rimmel London Lasting Finish 25hour Foundation. I've been using this foundation for the past 4 years and I must be on my fourth bottle by now! (Have you got any foundation recommendations for me?) It's seriously amazing!

Just for reference, I have dry skin and am a NC42 in MAC. For this foundation, I am using the shade "400 Natural Beige". I do find that it is a bit too pink for me, but my powder easily counteracts this! It is also quite dark and doesn't match my neck (you can't tell because of my hijab).. I cannot believe I wore this dark foundation colour for so long without even realising!

At first, I actually only bought this because of it's amazing price (£7.99) as well as because it seemed to be the only foundation at the drugstore which properly matched my skin colour. As I started using it more and more, I realised how much I loved it!

At the time I bought it, I had ridiculously oily skin, but this foundation handled it very well, and I would only have to powder once a day! I now have extremely dry skin, and it can seem a bit cakey when wearing this foundation, but it's nothing that a few spritz of ELF Mist & Set can't fix! Using a damp sponge to apply it can also stop it look it cakey and also gives it a lighter coverage. It dries close to a matte finish, maybe satin? Whatever it is, I love it! It has medium-full coverage, and evens out my skin tone, covers my blemishes, red spots and even sometimes my undereye bags! Even though it has amazing coverage, it is still very lightweight which is amazing! It doesn't dry too quickly, giving you enough time to blend, blend, blend!

This foundation comes with a pump which helps control the amount of product you use, minimising wastage. It also makes it hygienic. I love that it's in a glass bottle, as I prefer this way more than plastic packaging, or foundations in tubes. There is a slight scent to this foundation, but it smells quite fresh, and it isn't anything that would bother me personally.

This foundation claims to be "sweat, heat, humidity and transfer proof" and I definitely agree with this! Although, it can get a little oily through my t-zone, I still don't mind because of the overall foundation look!  I've obviously never worn it for 25 hours so I can't comment on that claim, but I can say that it usually lasts a good 12 hours before I finally take it off.

Almost every family member now use this foundation, we've all got different skin types and skin tones, but we all love using this foundation!
Have you ever tried this foundation? Let me know what you think!

(Note: experiences with beauty products vary between people, so what works for me may not necessarily work for you and vice versa.)

Thanks for reading, Thahira x

  1. I hated this foundation and I got it in the same shade as you. I found it to not have good coverage at all and made me break out with so many spots! It also made my face look a whole lot oily. You should try Loreal's True Match foundation! I absolutely recommend it! And I'm pretty sure you'll love it as much as I do.

    1. No way! I guess it's because everyone's skin is different.. I really wanted to try that but I had difficulty colour matching, as the closest one had pink undertones :( what colour do you use?

    2. One of the lady's at the counter actually helped me pick out my shade preference. I'm in the shade D7-W7 (Golden Amber)

  3. Fantastic review!
I would love to try this out when I'm done with my L'oreal stash, so irritated that I bought 2 new bottles of their foundation just before I found out that they support Israel and fund them loads of money :( thankfully we still have rimmel, bourjois, sleek etc but L'oreal do amazing bases....urgh :( not worth the innocent life of a child though!
will defo keep this in mind when I'm next buying insha'alla ^_^ awesome review!
